What’s the idea of the international brigades?
The international brigades want to give young people the opportunity to improve their solidarity for Latin America. The projects itself doesn’t imply simple tourism at all. More over every participant is supposed to try, depending on his personal experiences, to help people in need. The international brigades intend to show people in Latin America that there are others among the ordinary European people. In order to understand the real life in the Latin American world, the brigades organize travels. A brigade contains a minimum of four people. One of them has to be from our organization, who has local knowledge and language skills.
Venezuela is a country full of contrast. The enormous gap between the rich and the poor is noticeable in every part of the country. In the last couple of years many projects were founded in order to fight the status quo (Missiones). The projects which fight against poverty (Missiones) are part of the Bolivian revolution caused by Simon Bolivar. YOU can support the achieved changes. The “Interbrigadas” try to do their part by improving the local education.
